I started working on this project through my internship early 2025. It was my first project where I got to compose, produce and mix the movie soundtrack all by myself, which really enabled me to create a sonic world within the film. I worked closely with Whitney Maloney, the directer of this film, who is a film student in the US at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA).
During the proces of creating the score, I was having a lot of fun. Whit gave me a lot of freedom so the first couple of versions were completely my own interpretation of what the score needed to be. I read the script beforehand and already had a lot of ideas, but I wasn’t as used to the thriller parts of the film as much as the more emotional parts. I learned a lot about how I could make the vibe feel more cold and creepy which I think turned out really well.
The video on the left is when I was experimenting with how I could make the score sound more creepy with the analoge synth I was using.. love that synth!
The video down below is the finished film! I am really happy I got to work on this project and i think it turned out really well especially for my first scored film!
